Thanks! It's taking quite a while to download... it's probably because of the clouds.

Hi All!
Ive got another youtube widget I made. Well really just re-purposed the google widget. When dragged from the dock it provides a youtube seach bar on the desktop that returns results from youtube mobile.
For some reason I cant seem to attach it to this post though. Anyone know why that is?
Hey Agoattamer do you know where to find all of the options for the config.xml file? I am trying to determine what makes some widgets launch from the bar and others only launch when dragged to the desktop. Any ideas?
Edit: Hey there's the attachment right there! I guess I just dont see it in the form orthe preview

Hi!
One other thing, and maybe everyone already knows this, but since you cant delete widgets on your phone you can preview many of them in your regular firefox browser. I know you can just uncheck the widgets you don't want to use but sometimes it is nice to know what you are downloading.
.wgt is just a renamed .zip file and can be renamed to (whatever).zip and unzipped.
Inside are at least three files, an icon, index.html and config.xml, plus two or three folders
If you use your browser and open the index.html file you will see the widget in action.
The functionality of more complex widgets, like Accuweather, wont work but simple ones will.
sorry again if this is useless/redundant info

You can actually try the widgets out with Internet Explorer also. And accuweather opened fine in IE8 and I was able to select my location and everything.
But the one thing I need to change is that the solstice can delete widgets. Go to display and light in the settings and select widget and you can delete them there. The tutorial was written for the impression which can't delete widgets. But the solstice can. Jesusfreak pointed that out to me.

Cool. I'm a linux guy so no IE8, but it is good for testing if everything works in the browser. Any ideas about the config.xml file?

Well, I was just thinking about how some widgets, like those for the onmia and other higher end Samaung phones, have more complex config.xml files. Often times software (and hardware) has capabilities that the owners just don't want you to use, even though it does exist already in the api or on the board or whatever. So like when we see the access tag and it gives network=true why not an access tag with filesystem=true or other such stuff. The proprietary widgets can launch apps and read files so we should be able to too. I was wondering if you know if there is any list of tags for that xml file. I didn't see it on the Innovator site but I find it hard to find alot there.
Thanks,
Don

I am not a programmer. I had help making the template for my browser widgets.
Even though the stock widgets link to apps the innovator site says it is not possible for us to make widgets to do just that. All info is available on that site. I encourage you to check it out.
I wonder if there are any widgets on your phone that you can pull off. All the widgets on the impression are hidden and I cant find them. The only one located in the filesystem is yahoo search.
If you would please check out these 2 directories on your phone and see if you have any widgets you can upload here. Will need TKFE to do this.
SystemFS/MediaSet/Widget
and
User/Widget/NF/wm_store

All of the good widgets are locked away. Defaultly, CNN and Yahoo are in the widgets folder, but only Yahoo is installed (on a clean solstice), so its in the wmstore folder.

The only .wgt in "User/Widget/NF/wm_store" are ones I installed, although renamed to a numbered naming scheme. There are a bunch of binaries (.uni .mad .pre )that I haven't figured out yet.
Here is a Flickr search widget like the google and youtube ones.

You mean the Flickr widget? I made it out of the Google widget. A little Gimp for graphics and change a few lines in the .js and it can be anything you want. I'll do requests if people have any.
