Although this method isnt perfect it will allow you to re-order your apps in the games/apps menu.

It involves going into your games/apps menu and renaming the apps you want to re-order and organize to the top of the list.  (Using your phone only)

Make a list on a piece of paper of the order you want your apps to be in.

Then begin by renaming the apps from the bottom of the list to the top of the list on your phone by using the rename function. Simply just add an 'A' or something like that to the beginning or the end of the name.

Example:

Before:

1. scrabble
2. opera mini
3. peggle

Order you want it:

1. opera mini
2. scrabble
3. peggle

Order to rename it:

1. peggle
2. scrabble
3. opera mini

Result:

1. opera mini
2. scrabble
3. peggle

Then go to the internals on your phone.

Open up your dial pad and enter the following, *#6984125*#.

Choose INTERNALS and enter the following, *#3818790*#.

Now scroll down and choose Storage Settings. Then update Java DB

Hit the endcall key and go to your games/apps menu. You will now see that they have been reordered.

Start with the bottom one re-named and work your way back to the top re-naming the apps back to their original name. (so the next time you update java database they wont get re-ordered)

You dont have to do this to all the games/apps in your menu but only the ones you want near the top. I understand it might be some work but at least there now is a method. And you cant re-name locked apps so this method will not work for them.

Thanks to Bantam and lumplump for helping figure this out.

Thanks for this. Looks like you would just be able to sort them a to z.

They dont sort by alphabetical order. They sort according to time modified or installed.

Right, I was saying that you would think there would be an option in the phone to sort them alphabetically.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but after renaming my installed apps, the list is backwards and I cant get them to reverse their order. Tried renaming all of them to simple letter combos such as "'aa" for the bottom of the list which is gmail. and my forth being WikiMobile, as "dd" but despite my efforts, I can't get them to reverse order.

Do I need coffee or something or am I missing a step?

I do give cookies!

Edit: Just needed coffee.  Wink Got my apps in the right order after six tries.

Still, a cookie in good faith!
