Hello people,
I hated how bloated the New Samsung PC Studio was, and the old standalone USB driver did not work for me, so I went about extracting the minimal driver set from PC Studio to create my own minimal USB driver set.  The attached SolsticeDriver.zip contains the minimal driver set I found necessary to register the Solstice to work as a modem in conjunction with TKFE.

How to use:
You should first make sure your system is clean of all old driver files.
Extract the content of the zip, go into the folder "3_6810", and double click Setup.exe. Then plug in your phone, shouldn't need to restart.

You phone should first be seen as "SAMSUNG CDMA ..." type device, then it'll recognize it as a modem.

If that didn't work, you can try forcing an install (not recommended), by going into Device Manager, right clicking on the device with an exclamation point
1) click update driver
2) click Install from a specific location
3) choose Don't search ...
4) choose modem
5) choose Have disk
6) Browse to C:\Program Files\SAMSUNG\SAMSUNG Mobile Modem V2
7) Keep going and see if it works

Some information:
Driver Version: 4.50.7.0 (05/13/2009) <- I think there's a newer version, but I haven't gotten it to work
Device Name: SAMSUNG Mobile Modem V2
Hardware IDs:
USB\VID_04E8&PID_6810
USB\VID_04E8&PID_6811
USB\VID_04E8&PID_6812
USB\VID_04E8&PID_6813
USB\VID_04E8&PID_6814

This has been tested to work with my phone on two computers (Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, one had PC Studio installed, and then uninstalled, the other was clean), both 32-bit. I'd like to know if it works for anyone else. There are 64-bit drivers also in the folder, but they are not tested.

If you want to make your own driver package, it is very easy
1) Install the PC Studio software
2) Browse to the USB drivers folder, and copy the 3_6810 folder outside
3) Then uninstall PC Studio

Again, I'm not sure if this is only specific to my model of the solstice or something, so it might not work for anyone else.
