I have assigned certain ringtones to contacts and the phone still rings the main default tone when they call. I have checked and verified that the correct tone is assigned to this caller but it does not work. What am I doing wrong?

This may be somewhat of a bug in these samsung phones. It does the same thing for contact messages too at times. Just make sure you have the ringtone actually set. Also make sure you have the area code listed in the contact info. Even though 555-555-5555 and 555-5555 is the same number, the phone recognizes the 10 digit number better. Sometimes it wont even let me text to a 7 digit number.

See if any of that info helps you.

Agoattamer,

That did it when I added the area code to the number the right ringtone worked. Thanks for the info.

Happy I could help.  Grin  Make sure you add all your contacts with area codes included. It will avoid any other type of complications in the future.

I was wondering if you had any other suggestions? I made sure my contact lists had 10 digits, and for some reason they still don't work as assigned. They are all mp3 < 300kb. It seems to only do that with the message tones. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
