Medianet is a fine browser. But a full HTML browser it is not. If you want a better experience then try Opera-mini or BOLT browser. In full HTML view they can render the screen on your Solstice just like your PC. And if installed properly can download ringtones or pics and attachments in web mail. They will even be able to send attachments through your webmail.

Install the jar and jad using the TKFE install method described here.
http://www.samsung-solstice.com/index.php?topic=194.0

If you don't have a cable you can still install these browsers and you can then goatbreak them at a later date. Upload just the jad to wapHQ http://www.waphq.net/index.php  and then use the jumpcode to download and install to your phone.

EDIT: 3/22/10  Opera Mini version 4.2 has been removed and replaced with the new opera mini 5.0.  Also Bolt 1.7 has been added.

EDIT 4/22  You now have a choice of Bolt Browsers. 1.7 or the beta. Can only have 1 or the other. Jad and jar are included in zip file.

You cannot delete Media Net.  It is the default and always will be the default.

Well is there any way to make a shortcut of bolt or anything else. so you dont have to hit menu\games&apps\ then pick the folder. or even make a shortcut to specific folder?

or even take the defalt browsers keyboard. and apply it to bolt or opera, so that you have the .com button

I put it in the games folder so i could access it from the multi-task button. It's only one less button press. Better than 4 i guess.

Stupid Question:  I downloaded the Bolt and Opera that Ago linked above and installed them.  They work great.  Bolt has an upgrade to 1.7 though, and always prompts me when I open it up to download it.  If I do, will it still retain the all the permissions and be able to rotate? Thanks.

Okay sorry for the noobie questions. What is goatbreaking and is it safe to do?

Is it safe to install Bolt or Opera mini? Is there any chance of messing up my phone?

Not the proper thread to ask. There is a sticky on goatbreaking.  If it wasn't safe to install it wouldnt be on this forum.

First off thanks to everyone who contributes to this site because it made me enjoy my solstice.

I was wondering if there is anyway that the Opera-Mini browser that I installed can send attachments yet?  I can now view them but can't figure out how to send one?

How are you sending attachments? Some sort of web mail? If using yahoo then make sure you are not using m.yahoo.com for your email. Make sure it is yahoo.com.

Thanks for the reply Agoattamer. I am going to the regular yahoo.com and everytime when I click to go into my mail it takes me to m.yahoo.com for some reason.  Yahoo even has an option on the bottom of the screen that says mobile view or desktop view and I am choosing desktop view. But once I click the mail always goes back to the m.yahoo.com. Any suggestions?? Thanks
